WEEK 5 : CANOA, BAHIA, PUERTO LOPEZ

DAY 30-31  -  CANOA

We only stayed in Canoa for one hot night and explored its main beach the next day.

 Drift wood graveyard

DAY 32  -  BAHIA

The same goes for Bahia we just used it as a stop over between towns, also we wanted to get an overview of the entire coast. Tom got food poisoning here...

DAY 33-35  -  PUERTO LOPEZ
Famous Los Frailes Beach (and others) situated within Machalilla National park. Probably the nicest beach we`ve seen in Ecuador. Its sand is really clean thanks to its no-smoking and littering policy.

Isla de la Plata, situated 1hour off the coast, is a protected nature reserve. We saw giant sea turtles, Blue Footed Boobies, lots of beautiful fish on the coral reef and sharks - luckily from afar!

WEEK 4 BANOS , SAME, MOMPICHE

okay so its been a looong time since the last post, computers are hard to come by. In the past week or so we have gone from one extreme to the other in terms of climate and terrain! Last week we were in the cold mountains getting rained on and now we are by the coast getting roasted.

I´m afraid we are running behind, so the usual fun commentary will have to be left out but i will edit to include this asap

DAY 22 - 25  BANOS

 Crazy people

Food: Sugarcane and mandarin juice! mmmm so sweet
DAY 26  -  THE ECUADORIAN COAST  -  SAME

Really spooky abandoned hotel -  an absolute design fail

 Food: Seafood spaghetti

DAY 27 - 29  -   MOMPICHE

So we had the best room with the best  view in the whole of Mompiche (especially from the shower and toilet)! We were lucky enough to bag this room before anyone else got to it purely by chance, infact we were the first to use the room and its new matress. This marvelous construction was owned by Sirena who plans to open a spa on the ground floor when its finished. If you are interested in staying there or helping her finish build it, which I would reccommend,  you can contact sirena via the following....
